Kushal Suryamohan

Director of Bioinformatics Services, MedGenome Inc., USA

Kushal Suryamohan is Director of Bioinformatics Services at MedGenome, and leads the commercial bioinformatics services team. He oversees the optimization as well as development of pipelines for NGS data analysis. Previously, he worked at Genentech where he focused on analyzing long read, optical map sequencing and chromatin capture technology data to generate high quality de novo genome assemblies. He was also actively involved in applying high throughput NGS-based functional genomic screens of oncogenes to characterize oncogene function in cancer. His work has led to multiple publications in high-impact journals including Nature, Nature Genetics and Developmental Biology. Kushal holds a PhD in Biochemistry and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo, State University of New York.

Adi Pai

Vice President, Corporate and Business Development, MedGenome Inc., USA

Adi Pai is VP for Corporate and Business Development at MedGenome. Most recently, he was VP for Sales at Genuity Science where he led sales and business development for sequencing, oncology assays and disease cohorts for the biopharma industry. Prior to that, Adi was Global Sales Leader at IBM Watson Health for Watson Oncology and Life Science products. He was appointed a member of the IBM Industry Academy of Excellence as a Healthcare and Life Sciences industry expert. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals and genetics industry reports. Adi holds an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto; and Master’s Degrees in Medical Genetics (University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK), Molecular Genetics (McGill University, Canada) and Genetic Counseling (Brandeis University, USA).
